Who Can Apply? Check Your Eligibility Carefully
Teaching is a specialized profession, and the university has set clear academic benchmarks for aspirants. There is no maximum age limit specified in the rules, meaning anyone meeting the educational requirements can apply. The academic requirements are divided into two main categories depending on the course you are targeting:
1. For Regular B.Ed. Programme
If you are applying for the standard B.Ed course, you must have completed your Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree. The university requires you to have secured at least 50% marks in disciplines like Science, Social Science, Humanities, or Commerce.
If you come from an engineering background, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (with a specialization in Science or Mathematics) are also warmly welcomed. However, engineering graduates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their respective degrees.
2. For Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed. in Sanskrit)
Candidates interested in the traditional Shiksha Shastri course need specific qualifications in Sanskrit. You must have at least 50% marks in a Bachelor’s Degree where Sanskrit was the main subject, along with a Master’s Degree in Sanskrit (or Acharya).
Alternatively, if you passed Shastri (B.A. with Sanskrit) with 50% marks and completed a 2-year Acharya course, you are eligible. Note that marks from your first year of Acharya/MA will not be counted in your final percentage calculation, and you will also have to clear a bridge course.
The Admission Selection Process
Securing a seat in a good B.Ed college requires you to clear a transparent selection process. The university conducts this in three clear stages:
- Entrance Examination: All registered candidates will appear for a written entrance test on 07 June 2026. This test evaluates your teaching aptitude, general awareness, and subject knowledge.
- Result Declaration: Based on the final answer key, BRABU will declare the merit list and results on 19 June 2026.
- Counselling Process: Candidates who qualify the entrance test will be called for online counselling. Here, you will select your preferred colleges, and seats will be allotted based on your rank and reservation category.
